In Heenvliet, south of Rotterdam in the Netherlands, a beautiful sculpture garden can be visited from 23 May to 15 June, with the ruins of Ravesteyn at its heart. On Thursday 22 May at 18:00 the garden will open with a festive opening at 19:30 with a surprising edited performance by Jan Doms, as part of his large-scale installations he created, under the collective name 'Threesome'. A kind of mirror of the violence that is flooding the world. About half a year ago, Jan Doms visited the amazing sculpture garden in Heenvliet for the first time at the request of Han de Kluijver (architect). There he saw a multi-trunked monumental tree with the moat opposite it and in the middle the ruin Ravesteyn that can be reached by a bridge.
The request was to contribute to the 30th anniversary of this unique sculpture garden that has been serving as a sculpture garden for three decades. That is why Jan Doms decided to create a large-scale installation of steel and glass that consists of three parts that together refer to a history of suffering; a threesome of sculptures.
De andere betrokken kunstenaars zijn o.a. JanHein van Melis en vele anderen. Voor meer informatie daarover zie: www.ruine-ravesteyn.nl
